Super Surgery Saturday

Following the Christmas and New Year break, I was keen to hit the ground running in 2020. There's been a lot of upheaval recently with the General Election and holiday period and my regular help & advice surgery schedule hasn't been in operation as a consequence. Even though it's back up and running now, I still wanted to offer some additional events so that folk could come and see me at a convenient weekend slot. So, today has turned into a Super Surgery Saturday!

First up was Tea with your MP at The Charter on Tollcross Road. I started this initiative up last year and since then, it's proven hugely popular with constituents. Tea with your MP is an informal way for constituents to come and see me in a relaxed setting to have a blether over a cuppa. I'm very grateful to local councillor Jen Layden, who joined me at what turned out to be a very well-attended event.

After that, I headed up to Baillieston to join Councillor Elaine Ballantyne for a Supermarket Surgery at Morrisons. These pop-up help and advice sessions are a great way for people to catch their local elected politicians without having to go out of their way, and Saturday's event was certainly a popular one with locals.

Keep your eyes peeled for more events in the near future. All of my upcoming surgeries are listed over on my events page.
