Village Market at the Forge Shopping Centre

I know that a number of constituents, as well as business owners, have been worried about the events unfolding in respect of the Village Market at Parkhead Forge, commonly known to a lot of us as “the InShops”. Earlier today (Monday), I had a call with Paul Wishart, the Centre Manager at the Forge to discuss the situation.

I know this is an incredibly worrying time for traders, particularly in the run up to Christmas and a difficult economic backdrop, but I am reassured that the Centre Management have been working very hard to assist traders, indeed 16 tenants of the previous market have been re-sited elsewhere in the centre.

This is going to be a lengthy process but I will keep an open line of communication with Paul and his team and I too remain on hand to assist and traders with any questions or queries they have at this time.

Please note that this article relates to the Market Village and not the Forge Market, which operates in a different building nearby and is still open for business.
