Scottish Government visit to Community Transport Glasgow

It was a pleasure, alongside Shettleston SNP Councillor Laura Doherty, to welcome the Scottish Government's Transport Minister to Glasgow East this morning.

On a visit to Community Transport Glasgow, a registered charity based in Shettleston, Jenny Gilruth MSP met with the team to hear about the services they provide and the benefits for our local communities.

Since 2004, Community Transport Glasgow has been delivering award-winning, high quality transportation services to communities within the Greater Glasgow Area.

The organisation has been at the forefront of delivering a modern service, with a fleet of electric minibuses now in active use.

The Transport Minister also heard about the training and development being delivered by the charity, which has helped bring local people into the workforce by giving them new skills.

I am very grateful to Jenny for taking time out of her incredibly busy schedule to visit the East End and for the very keen interest she showed in this fantastic service.
