My Glasgow East constituents have made it abundantly clear they want to see an end to the bloodshed in Gaza and tonight, along with my SNP colleagues, I will vote for an immediate ceasefire.
I hope that other Members of Parliament will join us and join the UN in calling for an immediate ceasefire. If Westminster fails to do so, it would be disregarding international law, condoning collective punishment and giving the green light to the continued bombardment of Gaza, which has seen thousands of innocent children and civilians killed.
The SNP's amendment for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza has been selected and will be voted on this evening.
