Visit to Glasgow East Juniors RFC

Yesterday I had the great pleasure of visiting Glasgow East Juniors RFC in Barrachnie to hear more about the club and even see some of their training in action.

Glasgow East Juniors caters for P1-P7 school children who are coached by SRU qualified volunteers. Guys like Brendan, Jim and the rest of the coaches are incredibly passionate about developing rugby as a popular sport in the East End. And with two proper rugby pitches and goalposts in place, the East End is well placed to be a natural home for the grassroots element of the sport.

So, if you know of someone interested in taking up rugby, direct them to the Glasgow East Rugby Club park in Barrachnie. Training takes place 12-1pm on Sundays and Club Coordinator Brendan Kelly can be contacted by email at brendankelly54@hotmail.com.

Thanks again to all the parents, kids and volunteers who took the time to chat today.
