The East End Remembers

On Sunday, I was honoured to lay a wreath at the Service of Remembrance organised by East Glasgow Salvation Army.

The Eastern Necropolis on Gallowgate is home to many Commonwealth War Graves and every Remembrance Sunday we gather to honour and remember those brave soldiers who died in the service of our country throughout many conflicts. Those who attended on Sunday were reminded of the words of Jesus Christ in Matthew's gospel when He said "Blessed are the peace makers, for they shall be called the children of God".

May we all we peacemakers and strive for a world which is free of conflict and the horrors of war.
