Linden kicks off Lent fundraiser

Today marks the eve of Lent and I’ll be joining many others this year by filling my "Wee Box" to again raise money for the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF).

In previous years, I’ve helped fundraise for SCIAF by doing the family fun run around Strathclyde Park in Motherwell. It’s hard to put into words just what excellent work SCIAF does overseas and this year’s Lent fundraising appeal has a specific focus on Sudan and children with disabilities.

As we approach Easter, many of us will be deciding what to give up for Lent. So for the next 40 days, I’m giving up chocolate (including my much coveted hot chocolate drinks!) and I’ll be putting the money I’d otherwise have spent into my Wee Box.

There’s an added incentive that, between 12 February and 11 May 2021, all public donations to SCIAF’s Wee Box appeal will by doubled by the Government, so let’s get right behind this year’s fundraising drive and make a real difference to children in Sudan.
